Ville Virtanen was born on 17 July 1975 and was more popular by his stage name Darude. He is an electronic dance music producer and DJ from Eura, Hinnerjoki, Finland. Darude began his music career in 1999 with the smash single "Sandstorm" and subsequent album "Before the Storm". Thus, he gradually becomes well-known worldwide for his progressive and uplifting uncommon style of performing his hits. Virtanen started playing as an amateur musician while in high school, made different music as a hobby through his own computer tracker software. As his interest in music production rapidly grew, and on the other hand, his grades correspondingly dropped, he moved onto more serious production techniques. While at the party of some of his classmates, Virtanen played the song "Rude boy", written by Swedish artist Leila K, four times. This earned him the nickname "Rude boy", which gradually changed into "Da rude", which in turn inspired the name "Darude", too. Thus, he began his first successful world tour in 2001, releasing "Before the storm - Australian tour edition" in the process in the same time. 2002 saw another copy of "Before the storm - special edition", representing a full collection of remixes of his works. Since the release of "Rush", Darude has remained on the road, particularly in the United States and Eastern Europe. In 2003, he recorded his second album, "Rush", along with singles "Music" and "Next to you". All of them had modest success, with "Rush" reaching number four in weekly Finnish album sales and "Next to you" being commonly featured in some DJ mixes. Darude posted his latest single "Tell me" from his upcoming new album "Label this" on his official website, on 4 April 2007. "Tell me" was presented in Finland on 11 April 2007.
