Eric Prydz was born in Täby, Stockholm, Sweden on 19 July 1976. He is an uncommon popular Swedish DJ and producer, best known for his hit single "Call on me" in 2004, a cover version of the classic song "Valerie" of Steve Winwood, which topped most English singles charts for five weeks. This song was also placed at number one on the German Top100 for six consecutive weeks. Eric Prydz also creates music under several other aliases, including Cirez D, Pryda, Moo, Dirty Funker and Sheridan. Additionally, he has collaborated with different artist in many of his records - for example, under the names Axer - with his friend Swede Axwell, in "A and P project" he worked together with another of his fellows - Swede Steve Angello. "Dukes Of sluca" is made together with Andreas Postl, "Hardform and Groove System" co-operated his efforts both with Marcus Stork. The music of Eric Prydz includes many genres, depending on which of his different projects it will be released under. The records, made under his own name tend to be clear house, whilst the hits under the Cirez D moniker are naturally progressive house with a small electro house sounding. The bigger part of his singles remains exclusively progressive house, with staccato synths and simplistic loops that give them a distinct and easily recognizable sound. Apart from producing music, Prydz also manages the record labels Pryda, Pryda Friends, and Mouseville, which publish most of his own music. In 2006, he created quite an interesting remixed version of "Another brick in the wall, part II" of Pink Floyd, named "Proper education", with a clip of it. Eric Prydz performs mainly shows in and around Europe. He rarely travels to the United States and Asia, because he is reportedly scared of flying.
