Jeffrey Atkins was born on 29 February 29, 1976 in Hollis, Queens, New York City, New York, United States. He is an American rapper, who is better known under his stage name Ja Rule. Initially, Rule appeared with 0-1 and Chris Black as part of "Cash money click". In 1998, he was signed to Def Jam Recordings, with his first major appearance, together with Jay-Z on the song "Can I get a". In 1999, Ja Rule recorded his solo debut, "Venni vetti vecci", and had another hit single "Holla holla". The album immediately went onto platinum status. During early 2000 Ja Rule was also presented on the successful album of Irv Gotti - "Irv Gotti presents the murderers". This album also included other Murder Inc record label artists, as well as DMX, Jay-Z and Busta Rhymes. In 2000 Ja Rule published "Rule 3 36", his second solo compilation. The first single of it was "Between me and you", together with Christina Milian, which soon proved to be a hit and was followed by another successful song, "Put it on me", together with Lil Mo and Vita. The last single, "I Cry"is also accompanied by Lil Mo. The album received an unexpected level of support, and went onto become triple platinum, too. Then, Ja Rule released "R U L E", and a bit after that - on 2 October 2001, he recorded also his third album, "Pain is love". The first song here, "Livin it up"was a hit and consisted guest vocals by r and b singer Case and resembled "Do I do"of Stevie Wonder. The next single, "Always on time", was released in December of the same year and was again another mega success for the rapper. The song was notable as it introduced to the public the singer Ashanti, who performed on the songs chorus. The album also presented one quite successful remix - "I am real"- with Jennifer Lopez. Finally, this compilation included the song "So much pain", a tribute to Tupac Shakur, and again went on to become triple platinum. On 9 November 2004, appeared the next album of Ja Rule with another interesting collection of different sounds, such as "Wonderful", together with R Kelly, "New York", with Fat Joe and Jadakiss, and "Caught Up", with guest performers Ashanti and Lloyd. This album soon was determined gold in the United States.
