Wesley Eric Weston, Jr was born on 3 March, 1981 in Houston, Texas. Today he is better known as Lil Flip, an African American rapper with unique freestyle ability, and one of the first Houston rap artists to become mainstream and nationally known. Thus, Lil Flip received the title of "Freestyle King" by the late DJ Screw. Soon, He also become a member of the "Screwed Up Click". Born and raised in Houston, Texas, Lil Flip was discovered by this famous DJ, who influenced Lil Flip to rap at his initial freestyle battles in order to gain respect in his Cloverland neighborhood. When he was 16, he had signed to "Sucka Free Records", a local label founded by Daune "Humpty Hump" Hobbs and Lil Flip himself. He was a part of the rap group "H S E" or "Hustlaz Stackin Endz" and the band released a special album that introduced Lil Flip to the rest music world. His career began with his first album "The Leprechaun". The album quickly attracted national attention with its hit single "I Can Do That". It sold over 100,000 copies regionally and gained attention from "Def Jam South", A and R, and well-known Houston rapper Scarface. Thus, he was briefly signed to "Def Jam", but abruptly left the label a few days later after concerns about his financial earnings. Soon after that he has contracted with "Loud Records- and began recording his first national debut album. Lil Flip is known today for his unique way of freestyling and for frequently releasing double CDs whenever he releases an album. He is the first person to release a chopped and screwed album and credits some of his enormous success to the late DJ Screw.
