Metallica Ringtones
Metallica is a famous and very beloved American heavy metal band, founded in 1981. Nowadays, it soon has become one of the most commercially successful musical performers of recent decades. Metallica has already sold more than 90 million albums worldwide, including 57 million copies sold only in the United States. This band is also determined as one of the "Big four" thrash metal bands, along with Megadeth, Slayer and Anthrax. Metallica was created in Los Angeles, California, in October 1981 by guitarist and vocalist James Hetfield and drummer Lars Ulrich, after they both placed some surprising advertisements in the publication "The Recycler" about forming a band. The original duo soon recruited the bassist Ron McGovney, and the early artistic image of this band went through various lead guitarists, such as Lloyd Grant, Brad Parker, and Jeff Warner. Metallica received its popular name when San Francisco metal promoter Ron Quintana asked Ulrich to help pick out a name for his new magazine, promoting American and British metal bands. The bigger part of its music was inspired by bands such as "Black Sabbath", "Motörhead", "Diamond Head", "Saxon", "Thin Lizzy", "Judas Priest", "Iron Maiden", "Mercyful Fate", and several other, mainly British, metal groups. They also took a bit inspiration from some punk bands like the "Misfits", "Zeroption", and "The Ramones" and English hardcore bands such as "Discharge". In late spring of 1983, Metallica traveled to Rochester, New York to record their first official album, entitled "Metal up your ass". However, due to conflict with the record label about this name, the debut compilation was finally called "Kill em all". It was not an initial financial success, but anyway, earned them a growing fanbase on the global underground metal scene. Despite their initial animosity, Dave Mustaine, who would go on to fame with his own band "Megadeth", still has his artistic appearance in Metallica on different hits, for example, "Jump in the fire", "Phantom lord", "Metal militia" and the remarkable "The four horsemen", originally titled "The mechanix" and listed such on their early demo tapes. Another early real favourite for the public was "Seek and destroy". The new copy of this compilation in 1989 included their favourite and well-known hits - "Am I evil", from Diamond Head, and "Blitzkrieg" from the band Blitzkrieg. In June 2003, the eighth full-length recording of Metallica, entitled "St Anger", debuted directly at number 1 on the different album charts all over the world. Despite this, this compilation also won the best metal performance at the 2004 Grammys.
