The Rolling Stones are an extremely popular and beloved English musical group who were part of the "British invasion" in the early 60s. The band was formed in London in 1962 by Brian Jones, and actually was led by the creative artistic partnership of singer Mick Jagger and guitarist Keith Richards. Thus, the group began playing blues, r and b and rock n roll, and later continued with some new genres, including country, psychedelia, reggae, and disco. During their famous American tour from 1969, the Stones were introduced and have often since that moment been considered as "The greatest rock and roll band in the world". Nowadays, this band have released 29 albums of original works and compilations, and have 37 top-10 great hits. Thus, it is no surprise that in 1989 the Rolling Stones were led into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, and in 2004 they were placed on number four in "100 greatest artists of all time" of Rolling Stone Magazine. The appearance of this rock group began with the friendship between Keith Richards and Mick Jagger, who both attended the Dartford Maypole County Primary School, and in 1960. Together with another mutual friend of them - Dick Taylor, they formed the band "Little boy blue", later called "The blue boys". The rest Stones founders - the instrumentalist Brian Jones and the pianist Ian Stewart were also active in the London music scene at the same time - Jones playing with the Ramrods and Blues Inc, a pop group with a fluid lineup that featured cameo performances by Jagger and Richards as well as future Stones drummer Charlie Watts. Thus, in June 1962 the Stones final lineup settled down to Jagger, Richards, Stewart, Jones, Taylor, and the drummer Tony Chapman. Shortly after that, however, Taylor left the group, which renamed itself "The Rolling Stones" according to a famous hit by Chicago blues artist Muddy Waters.
