Terri Clark was born in Montreal, Quebec on 5 August 1968. Nowadays, she is already a famous Canadian country singer whose career began in the middle of 90s. In the very beginning of her music career, in 1994, Terri entered a record contract to Mercury Records. Thus, "Better things to do", appeared in 1995, became her first single. It reached number three on Billboard "Hot country singles and tracks" chart in the United States, as well as on RPM "Country singles" chart in Canada. Her complete debut album, "Terri Clark", recorded in the same year, soon achieved gold status and contained several songs she had composed herself. Both "When boy meets girl" and "If I were you" also climbed in the Top 10 and the latter in very short time became first number one single of Terri in Canada. Her second compilation, "Just the same" from 1997, managed even better than her first work on the global music market. In the United States as well as Canada, it became platinum. The first two songs form it, "Poor, poor pitiful me" and "Emotional girl", reached the Top 10 in the USA and number one in Canada. Her third album, "How I feel", appeared on the global music market in 1998. This compilation presented her first American number one hit, "You are easy on the eyes", which also soon topped on number one in Canada. "Fearless" is the title of the fourth album of Terri Clark, released in 2000. While it became a real success in Canada, the highest charting single in the United States was "A little gasoline", which hardly reached number thirteen. Her next album, "Pain to kill" from 2003, brought her back to the American Top 5 when "I wanna do it all" successfully climbed on number two, after it has appeared for the first time on number three. The following year, Terri recorded her "Greatest hits 1994-2004". The only single, published from this collection, "Girls lie too", placed straight to number one in the United States. Thus, Terri Clark became the first Canadian female to be inducted into the Grand Ole Opry on 12 June 2004. Currently she is the only Canadian woman member of it. Only one song from "Life goes on" in 2005 reached the American Country charts - "She did not have time". Meanwhile, her contract with Mercury Records expired in March 2006, after seven complete albums. In 2007, Terri moved to BNA Records. Her first compilation for them, "My next life", is considered to be presented in August. Its first single, "Dirty girl", is currently climbing the charts in both the United States and Canada.
