T.I. Ringtones for Mobile Phones
Clifford Joseph Harris Jr was born on 25 September 1980 in Atlanta, Georgia. But he soon becomes more popular by the stage name T I. This is a six-time Grammy Award nominated American rapper, songwriter, actor, and an executive and film producer as well. He is the manager of the music company "Grand hustle records". T I is also the lead performer in the southern rap group "P". In 2005, he also launched his own film production company, called "Grand hustle films", which was signed as a multi-artist joint venture deal for his label with "Atlantic Records", and established a great music publishing deal for "Grand hustle music" with Warner Chappell. He also produced the main soundtrack to the film "Hustle and flow" and released this collection through Grand Hustle and Atlantic Records. T I also did the same for the debut album of his own group "P", called "25 to life". His surprising stage name, "T I P", comes from his child nickname "Tip", which he received from his grandfather. T I was exposed to hip-hop for the first time at the age of seven, and when he was 11, he had decided to pursue a career in rap seriously. Thus, he signed his first record deal at age 19. Due to his Southern accent, many fans mistook his nickname for "Chip", so he soon began spelling it out more distinctively "T I P". By the time he signed with "Arista Records" subsidiary "LaFace Records" in 2001, he shortened it to "T I", also out of respect for label mate Q-Tip. He is sometimes known to go by "Rubberband man" and the self-proclaimed "King of the south". For a while he has served as a co-writer for some of the hits of Bow Wow. T I also created about 30 percent of his third album "Unleashed" and wrote the third verse and chorus to his song "Let us get down". On the other hand, he has written lyrics for many other famous rappers, such as Diddy and Lil Kim. The debut album of T I - "I am serious" was released through Arista Records, and consisted an interesting single of the same title which was created together with the reggae vocalist Beenie Man. This compilation included collaboration with Pharrell Williams of The Neptunes who named him the "Jay-Z of the south", and Jazze Pha and Youngbloodz, and was produced by Pharrell and The Grand Hustle Team. However, the album did not managed very well on the global music market, and unfortunately, he soon was dropped from the label. This compilation sold only 268,000 copies. T I released his second album - "Trap muzik" in the summer of 2003 and it debuted on number four and sold 193,000 copies only in its first week. Obviously, it was more of a success, compared with his debut album due to the singles "24s", "Be easy", "Rubber band man", and "Let us get away". T I created his third album "Urban legend" in late 2004. This new compilation instantly generated crossover success with its hit single "Bring em out". Here T I has used a sample from "What more can I say" of Jay-Z from "The black album" to create the main theme. This album presented also production from the basic producer of Ruff Ryders - Swizz Beatz. The compilation consisted collaborations with Trick Daddy, Nelly, Lil Jon, B G, Mannie Fresh of the Big Tymers, Daz Dillinger, Lil Wayne, Pharrell of The Neptunes, P and Lil Kim. Thus, the album was soon certified platinum by selling 1,3 million copies.
