Tim McGraw is the uncommon and interesting stage nickname of Samuel Timothy McGraw. He was born in Delhi, Louisiana on 1 May 1967. Nowadays, Tim McGraw already is a popular American country music singer who has created many number one hits on the country singles and album charts, with total sales in excess of 25 million copies. Some of his "trademark" hit songs include "Indian outlaw", "Do not take the girl", "Down on the farm", "I like it, I love it", "It is your love", together with his wife Faith Hill, and "Live like you were dying". Thus, until 2006, McGraw has had nine consecutive albums beginning at number one on the Billboard "Country albums" Chart and has sold a combined 34 million records, with twenty-six of his singles reaching number one on the Billboard "Hot country 100" chart. He has gained 3 Grammys, 11 Academy of Country Music awards, 10 CMA awards, 9 American Music Awards and 3 special awards - "The choice of the people". His interesting music tour with Faith Hill in 2006 became the highest-grossing performance in the entire country music history, and is also considered as one of the top five in all genres of music. McGraw has begun his experience as an actor with a supporting role in the Billy Bob Thornton film "Friday night lights" and a lead role in "Flicka" from 2006. McGraw attracted the attention of Curb Records in 1990 through chance circumstances and the connections of his father. Two years later, in 1992, he already received his first minor hit "Welcome to the club" from his self-titled debut album. His second compilation, "Not a moment too soon", was much more successful, becoming best selling country album in 1994. The first single in it, "Indian outlaw", however, caused considerable controversy as critics argued that it presented Native Americans in a patronizing way. Some radio stations even refused to play it, but this controversy helped its total sales and the song soon became the first top ten country single of Tim McGraw, getting as high as number eight and placed on number fifteen on the pop chart. The second record from this collection, "Do not take the girl" , in a short time became his real first number one country hit. The following year, the title track of the album also became a number one country single, while "Down on the farm" placed on number two and "Refried dreams" reached the top 5.
