Tina Turner is the pseudonym of Anna Mae Bullock who was born on 26 November 1939 of African American, Navajo, and Cherokee ancestry in Nutbush, Tennessee. Today, she is an American pop and rock singer and actress, famous enough to become a real music icon for some generations. Although well-known and respected as a performer even before Tina had separated from Ike Turner, it was her comeback in the middle of 1980 that propelled her to international solo career thereby becoming one of the most popular artists of the XXth century and most successful female rock-artist of all times. Thus, it is no surprise that she has sold more concert tickets than any other female performer in the entire music history all over the world. With combined album and single sales exceeding 150 million since her music debut in 1960, Tina Turner is one of the top-selling solo artists at recent days. Throughout her career, she has won numerous awards and honours including a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 1986 and induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1991. She is also a winner of eight Grammy Awards in four different stylistic categories. VH1 also ranked her at number two on their list of The Greatest Women in Rock, coming in second to Aretha Franklin. Tina Turner stopped with her major tours after her most recent in 2000. However, she continues to make a lot of public appearances and collaborations. In April 2007, her management confirms that she will return to the stage to headline a charity concert for the Cauldwell Children Charity at Natural History Museum of London on 18 May 2007, and this will be her first show for last seven years.
