Wham Ringtones for Mobile Phones
Wham was an English pop band, founded in 1981, by George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley. They were often known in the United States as Wham UK due to a naming conflict with another band. Michael and Ridgeley acquainted each other at "Bushey Meads School" in Watford, England. At first, they performed in a short-lived group with the name "The executive". Then, the both friends decided to change their name and received a contract from "Innervision Records". Shortly after the legal victory over "Innervision", the duo was signed to "Columbia Records" in the United States and Canada and "Epic Records" for the rest of the global music market. The impact of Wham on the public, especially on the young girls, became obvious from the moment they finished their debut performance of "Young guns - go for it" on "Top of the pops". By the end of 1983, Wham were the main competitors of Duran Duran and Culture Club as the biggest pop artists of Britain. Thus, their first album "Fantastic" easily reached number one on different charts through the country. When the duo disappeared for a while at the end of 1983 to record their next album, a party version of their early singles, called "Club fantastic megamix", kept their name alive. One of their most interesting hits - "Wake me up before you go-go", was created by George Michael from a note left to him in his hotel room one night by Ridgeley. It became their first English number one and soon rose to the top in the USA, too, helped by the memorable clip of the duo. The next single "Careless whisper" was issued as a George Michael solo piece, although it was co-written by Ridgeley. This song quickly reached number one again. In the autumn of 1984, Wham returned as a duo with "Freedom", another fast chart-topper. In November the same year, they created their second album, "Make it big", which fast placed on number on in the different album charts.
