China Mobile Carrier

China Mobile is the world's largest mobile network operator, with 270 million cellular-phones services subscribers, operating in a huge internal market - 420 million mobile cell-phones services users as of the end of last year. But it is a market where only 29% of the population has a mobile cell-phone, so there's still a very big spot to be conquered. Last year its revenues were up with 26%, to $30 billion. The company is operating in all of China's provinces, which number is 31 and it is now planning an expansion abroad. Some months ago was launched the Hong Kong-based China Resources Peoples Telephone. Still, there's plenty of uncertainty ahead, because the competition in that area is likely to bring along some competitive companies like the traditional rival mobile cell phones operator China Unicom and from companies like China Telecom and China Netcom, which are becoming stronger in the last years.

Established on April 20th, 2000, China Mobile Communications Corporation has a registered capital of about 52 billion RMB yuan and assets of over 400 billion RMB yuan. It is fully named China Mobile Group Limited. China Mobile Limited, of which China Mobile Group Limited is the major shareholder went public in Hong Kong and New York Stock Exchanges. Now, in terms of its market value, China Mobile Limited is the biggest among all the overseas listed Chinese companies and among all the mobile cellular carriers in Asia.
