They are hoping to become global players — dominants at home and strong enough to muscle in on consumer awareness abroad. China Mobile also claims to be the world's largest mobile phone provider ranked by millions of subscribers. The China government is going to promote a policy of ‘Going Global’ so as to create ‘Global Champions, in the world scenario‘.
Deep-pocketed foreign mobile phone operators led by Finland's Nokia and South Korea's Samsung Electronics are moving to tighten their grip on the China market. Nokia, Motorola and Samsung are also gaining share in China and becoming stronger in the market. Expanded distribution and local alliances were helping the world's top three handset suppliers lead the charge to dominate China.
Some of the world's largest mobile phone manufacturers and providers include Alcatel, Audiovox, Fujitsu, Kyocera (former division of Qualcomm), LG, Motorola, NEC, Nokia, Panasonic, Philips, Sagem, Samsung, Sanyo, Sharp, Siemens, SK Teletech, Sony Ericsson, and Toshiba. Most companies step back when it comes to giving a comparative figure of sales in terms of being a world provider.
